About the Blog
"You have to live in the moment." --- Paulo Coelho
The Pilgrimage of the Agchemist is but a humble Blogger page of a person who likes to write about the things that piqued his interests: games, literature, authors, technology, art, scale models, ideas, etc. The idea for creating and setting up started in late 2009, and it had its idle times when the author was mostly procrastinating of what to write, or just plain procrastination. And a lot of distraction, be it of other important real-life matters or otherwise.
Some of you may find the title of the blog strange, while others may recognize where the author pulled them from. The first part of the title comes from the novel titled "The Pilgrimage", while the word 'AgChemist' is a portmanteau of "agricultural chemist", a name called upon to students in UPLB (University of the Philippines Los Baños) who are pursuing BS Agricultural Chemistry. Interestingly, 'agchemist' is strikingly similar to 'alchemist', which is also the title of a short story, "The Alchemist". Both "The Pilgrimage" and "The Alchemist" are works of Paulo Coelho.
The Pilgrimage of the Agchemist is the blog author's way of sharing his ideas, hobbies, and the like to the world. Simple as that. It begins with the journey, real or in the internet, and it does not stop there. To quote Paulo Coelho when asked of his writing habits: "It’s as Lewis Carroll said: start at the beginning, go to the end, then stop. That’s how I write. I write quickly. I don’t try to show how intelligent or how cultivated I am, I just try to share my soul. Sharing is part of life."
With that, welcome to The Pilgrimage of the Agchemist.
About the Author
Kai (pseudonym) is the sole author of this weblog, and his articles contain cynical and sarcastic puns that he thinks "makes the writing more enjoyable to read than look like a boring gray lines that take up a lot of space". He fancies himself as "a jack of all trades" kind of person, yet his strengths lie in talking about video games, 90s to 2000s timeline of anime, and tinkering computer hardware. He used to play the piano and he's known to share his love and passion for food to anyone who makes an effort to cooking. And he also loves pets, particularly cats.
