[All Things 3DS] 3DS to Have Firmware Update, 25 April

No word on the Ice White Variant.
3DS owners, mark your calendars! On the 25th of April, Nintendo will be releasing a much-awaited firmware update for our beloved handheld consoles.

So what's in the package? For starters, we can now make folders! Yes, directories and all that stuff so we could organize them in our very own obsessive-compulsive way. Also, this enables downloading of 'update data'. What's update data, you say?

Patches. Yes, SOFTWARE AND/OR GAME PATCHES! WO-HOOO!!

Not to mention a few new titles coming up.

Does this also mean region-locking will be dissolved? Who knows?

So don't forget to back up your data, folks!

*Note: this firmware update is applicable to the US and UK versions of the Nintendo 3DS. No word on the Japanese variant.
